My family has been on a smoothie kick, ever since we got a new Ninja blender thanks to the points I earned in the Norwex Choice Rewards Program. I had been wanting to replace my blender for a while, since the one I had wasn’t very powerful, and was getting old. The first item I redeemed points from this reward program for was the blender. Ever since then, my family is constantly making smoothies (or milkshakes). Did you know that consultants can earn free rewards just for sharing Norwex with friends and family? The Choice Rewards program is a bonus, on top of the 35% commission you earn, and the trip that you can earn!
I want to share with you the smoothies that are on rotation in our home, so you have some smoothie inspiration too! These smoothies make great snacks or a quick breakfast
Outside of summer, we love to use frozen fruits. It’s the most convenient and can be cheaper when a fruit is not in season. We also use frozen spinach, simply because it won’t wilt and go bad in the fridge if we don’t use it quickly. If you have a garden, by all means, use your fresh garden spinach!
My Favourite Chocolate Cherry Smoothie
I can’t seem to get enough of this smoothie recipe lately. It’s smooth, chocolatey, and not too sweet. I love how creamy it is (thanks to the banana and avocado). This recipe came from Liz Moody. She has great ideas over on her Instagram account @lizmoody
Serves 2 (or save the second one for tomorrow)
- 2 cups spinach or mixed greens
- 1 banana
- 3 cups cherries
- 1 avocado
- 2 scoops chocolate, vanilla, or unflavoured protein powder (OR, 3 TBSP hemp seeds)
- 1.5 tsp ground cardamom
- 4 tbsp cacao *use 3 if using chocolate protein powder
- pinch fine grain sea salt
- water (you can adjust the amount, depending on how thick you prefer your smoothies)
Throw everything in your blender and blend until smooth.
My Kids Favorite Mango Smoothie
This smoothie has been a favorite with the kids lately. Our blender has a large blender pitcher, as well as two individual cups with a separate blade. The individual cups are great for older kids when they want to make up a smoothie of their choice.
- 1 handful frozen mangos
- 1/2 handful frozen strawberries
- 1-2 spoonfuls of plain or vanilla yogurt
- 1/2-1 handful frozen spinach
- 1 cup orange juice (or 1/2 cup OJ and 1/2 cup water)
Blend and enjoy!
- 3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup chopped kale
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/2 greek plain or vanilla yogurt
- 1 tbsp ground flax
Add pineapple juice and kale. Blend until kale is incorporated smoothly. Add remaining ingredients and blend.
Made a Mess?
Smoothie making has the potential to be messy! But don’t grab paper towels to clean up your messes. Wipe up spills with a reusable counter cloth! These are the same size as a half sheet of paper towel, and ultra absorbent. They’re great to use dry or wet.
Thanks for stopping by. And if you try one of these recipes, please come back and let me know what you thought!
