The Norwex Pet Stain & Odour Remover Concentrate is an award winning enzyme pet mess cleaner that doesn’t use chemicals to achieve its results!
A pet is a labor of love, but some kinds of messes really put that love to the test! Pet messes are gross in the moment, but they can also linger on. That lingering smell is problematic, not just for the aesthetic of your home, but also in preventing future accidents. Dogs tend to come back to the places they have peed before, perceiving them as an acceptable place to urinate or mark. The challenge to cleaning up pet messes is how unique their urine is. It varies a lot! According to the AKC,
“An individual dog’s urine says a lot about them, providing information on their health, sexual receptiveness, and maybe even their mood. In addition, urine is full of pheromones (special chemical signals dogs use to “talk” to one another). By leaving urine on a fire hydrant, your dog is sending a message via urine to other dogs in the neighborhood.”
When they are leaving these “messages” in the neighborhood, it’s no big deal, but if they leave them in the house, you want to be ready to handle it, quickly! There are so many reasons your pet might leave a mess in the house, but in the end, a good enzyme cleaner is essential to have on hand. The AKC also recommends using an enzyme cleaner to address this kind of mess.
Norwex’s Pet Stain and Odour Remover Concentrate is an enzyme cleaner that has won the 2025 Better Homes and Gardens Clean House Award for Best Odor Remover in the Best Products for Pet Messes category! It has been a winner in our 2 dog home and I’m sure it will be in yours too!

What I like about the formula
- Uses an enzyme and probiotic spore blend– This unique formula throws a one-two punch to take down the mess. When the spray first releases onto the mess, enzymes start breaking down the biological material, i.e. the gross stuff (the urine, feces, or vomit). The probiotic spore blend also releases enzymes that continue to break down proteins found in pet waste, helping to prevent resoiling and returning scents. As we talked about earlier, this organic matter has unique compositions that vary, but the enzymes and probiotic spore blend has what it takes to address the specific mess. By completely breaking down the proteins found in pet waste, resoiling becomes less likely.
- Easy to use– I don’t know about you, but finding a pet mess can feel overwhelming in the moment! I love that this can be mixed to use in a spray bottle. The plan is so much simpler- just remove the solids, spray down the stain, and let the rest do the work! There is no need to set up a carpet cleaner or wash out a clunky machine holding icky water.
- Safe on many materials– I also feel less overwhelmed knowing this spray can be used on lots of different materials. It can be used on cotton, nylon, velvet, faux leather, fiberglass, tile, wood, ceramic, linoleum, laminate and concrete. It can be used on carpets and areas like pet bedding, crates, litter boxes and more. It was even awarded the Carpet and Rug Institute Seal of Approval. This is the carpet industry’s only scientific program to test and measure the effectiveness of carpet cleaning products based on a variety of different standards, including colorfastness, pH level, rate of resoiling and more. Just don’t use it on silk, wool, leather or natural stone.
What’s Important to Know about Norwex’s Pet Stain and Odour Remover Concentrate
- Chemical free– so many pet cleaners are chemical based, but Norwex’s formula is made without SLS/SLES, phthalates, parabens, mineral oil, optical brighteners, synthetic dyes and fragrances. It is also vegan.
- Contains natural ingredients– This formula is made from USDA certified 38% biobased content from plants and other renewable sources that are biodegradable.
- Leaves behind a pleasant scent– It feels reassuring and rewarding to smell that light orange scent after the gross stuff. The Pet Stain & Odour Remover uses orange oil to leave behind a better smell. Some odor sprays are so powerful they get annoying. That is not the case with this one. This pet mess cleaner doesn’t mask scents, but does redeem the experience.
