Norwex’s Facial Sunscreen has become part of my daily skin care routine to protect from sunlight, blue light & chemicals, and to avoid premature fine lines and wrinkles.
At a certain age, the fight against wrinkles begins, and a preventative daily skincare routine is essential. Even though it is totally necessary, it has been challenging to find a great daily sunscreen for my face. Most facial sunscreens are greasy and incompatible with a makeup routine. You can sort of put up with them for the summertime or vacationing trips to the beach, but I struggled to find one so I could have consistent protection. I don’t like to be overly concerned about fine lines and wrinkles, but even cloudy days and blue light from screens can cause damage. Since it’s best to stay consistent, I also wanted something that wasn’t hiding chemicals and had a decent price point. Norwex’s Mineral Facial Sunscreen fit into this criteria just right. Let me show you why!

What I Love About the Norwex’s Facial Sunscreen
- Non-Greasy– greasy sunscreen is better than nothing, but they are mostly suited to the beach and summer days when I’ve decided to forego my face makeup. Norwex’s Facial Sunscreen formula is lightweight, non-sticky, and fast-absorbing. It feels more like a moisturizer.
- Doesn’t make your face white– Some mineral-based sunscreens are another word for a clowny face- poweder-y, white residue. While this is somewhat an upgrade from chemical-based formulas, it doesn’t really feel like it. The tradeoff doesn’t seem worth it. Norwex’s Facial Sunscreen formula does come out of the tube white, but once it soaks in, that effective doesn’t last.
- Compatible with face makeup– Because of the factors above, I can actually wear it on the days when I want to do my face makeup too, making it a daily option.
- Effective– Of course, this is the part about sunscreen that matters most. This facial sunscreen is an SPF 30 protection, and it actually works! Even my friends that are fair skinned trust this for their beach day. Make sure to check out the instructions below for best use.
What’s to Love about Norwex’s Facial Sunscreen
- Chemical free– Sunscreens are supposed to be much needed protection from the harmful UVA and UVB rays, but the tradeoff doesn’t feel worth it sometimes with chemical-based sunscreens. These formulas include ingredients like parabens, oxybenzone, GMOs, gluten, phthalates, octinoxate, synthetic fragrances, cinnamate, benzophenone and camphor derivatives. Just a quick search will show you why you don’t want your skin regularly exposed to these. Instead, Norwex’s formula is powered by non-nano Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide to deflect rays and includes a Nordic Antioxidant blend of organic Cloudberry, Elderberry, Black Currant and Lingonberry protects skin from free radicals and imparts radiance. Yes- it will make your skin feel bougie!
- The bottle lasts while– Even though it’s bougie, the price really isn’t bad for how long the bottle lasts. I would recommend you very slowly pump it and try to only get half a pump because a little goes a long way. This bottle contains 1.7 fl. oz so it is carry-on friendly and compact enough to stash in your purse or desk.
- Full spectrum protection from sunlight and blue light– Sometimes natural products don’t deliver the same level of effectiveness as the chemical version. This is definitely not the case with Norwex’s Facial Sunscreen! Also, if your job has you in front of the computer for most of the day, you’ll want to start using protection. Ultraviolet (UV) light and exposure to sunlight is responsible for up to 90% of visible changes to your skin. High-energy visible (HEV) light known as blue light and environmental factors are responsible for the other 10% of skin changes. If you want to prevent wrinkles, this formula will address both kinds of light. Norwex uses two key ingredients to protect: EnergiNius™ and Pollustop®. EnergiNius™ is based on the Ashwagandha plant; it helps protect skin from blue light emitted from smartphones, tablets and computers. Pollustop® acts as an anti-pollution agent, forming a barrier against environmental stressors on the skin.
How to Use
For sun protection: Apply liberally to face 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every 2 hours or after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating and immediately after towel drying.
For general daily use: Apply 2 fingers’ worth (about ¼ teaspoon) in the morning as your last skin care step and before applying makeup. Reapplication may be necessary before going outdoors.

What’s Important to Know
Another reason to pat yourself on the back for making the switch is that it is “reef-friendly certified.” Let me explain. Paraben, cinnamate, benzophenone and camphor derivatives, four common chemicals in sunscreens, can stimulate dormant viral infections in zooxanthellae, which is the algae that helps give coral its spectacular color. These chemicals can cause viruses to replicate within the algae, spreading infection to nearby coral communities. Sadly, “tropical reefs have begun dying from bleaching, with the frequency and spatial extent of such bleaching increasing dramatically over the past 20 years. Now a study finds that chemical compounds in sunscreen products can cause abrupt and complete bleaching of hard corals, even at extremely low concentrations” (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2291012/). No one wants to lose this beautiful habitat so give yourself a pat on the back for making the switch!
This product is 5 stars! ******
Norwex’s Mineral Facial Sunscreen is worth all 5 stars!! Even though it is pricier than what can be found at the drugstore, it is worth it because it fits all my criteria. I usually can cut back on products that I used to fill the gaps when I’ve found something just right so in the end I do save money.
