The Environmental Working Group, known as the EWG, and Norwex have a new partnership! Which Norwex products do you think are already EWG Verified?
For over 30 years, the Environmental Working Group and Norwex have worked simultaneously, but separately in their missions to reduce chemicals of concern from consumer products. Since 1993, the Environmental Working Group has worked “To empower you with breakthrough research to make informed choices and live a healthy life in a healthy environment.” (EWG.org, 2025). Since 1994, Norwex has believed that “By reducing harmful chemicals in our everyday lives, we share a cleaner, safer way of living.” We are so excited for the start of a partnership to better serve customers as they move towards a healthier lifestyle!
What does it mean for a product to be EWG verified?
EWG Verified program was created by EWG to empower consumers everywhere to find safer products for their health and families. The EWG Verified program ensures that brands formulate products using ingredients that have been tested for safety, are free from EWG’s chemicals of concern and are manufactured according to the strictest criteria regarding transparency. Norwex is so excited to offer this trusted certification to our customers. You don’t just have to take our word for it! This third party certification puts their stamp of approval on products that meet their stringent set of criteria for safety. What is the difference between USDA Biobased Certification and EWG Verified?
With so many different certifications, it can be confusing to know why each is beneficial to you as the consumer.The EWG Verified prioritizes human health, while USDA Biobased Certification emphasizes renewable, natural ingredient content. Each area of work- human health & raw materials- is so broad. Each certification program focuses on its area of expertise and is able to view each product through their lens to best assess.
Which Norwex products are EWG verified?
The EWG looks at products one by one. This is not a blanket stamp for all Norwex products, but Norwex does plan to continue verification on both their personal care and home care products. We will keep you updated. So far 3 products have received the EWG Verified Mark- the Cleansing Facial Powder, Renewing Eye Cream, and Hydrating Moisturizer.
