It’s time to get pumped about your laundry!
The NEW Norwex Liquid Laundry Detergent is HERE, and it can literally be pumped into your washing machine!
While Ultra Power Plus is a fantastic laundry detergent, some of us prefer the liquid detergent, and now Norwex has a formula for us! The Liquid Laundry Detergent is designed to be tough on dirt and stains, but gentle on the environment after it leaves your washing machine. This biodegradable formula uses enzymes instead of chemicals to break up starch/sugar, protein, and fat-based stains. It also attacks the bacteria that causes odor, particularly in athletic apparel. The Liquid Laundry Detergent is free from:
- Phosphates
- Chlorine
- Fragrances
- Optical brighteners
- Ammonia
- Sulfates
- Dyes
- Fillers
- Phthalates
- Bleach
It is very difficult to break away from these ingredients since they are in the products that line the laundry aisle. Many “Free and Clear” solutions brag about being free of fillers, dyes, and fragrances, but they still contain the toxins that your clothing fibers cling to and then sit on your skin all day.
Ultra-Concentrated Formula
This formula is ultra-concentrated! It is 7.5 more concentrated than leading brands so this bottle will last much longer. One bottle of Norwex Liquid Laundry Detergent washes up to 215 loads in an HE machine and up to 107 laundry loads in a conventional machine. So, say you do 5 loads a week, this should last about 21 weeks for regular machines, which is about 4-5 months. If you have an HE machine, this will last 215 loads! It’s pretty incredible!
Liquid Laundry Detergent Vs. Ultra Power Plus
So, what’s the difference between LLD and UPP? Besides, the obvious-one is liquid and the other is powder-there isn’t much difference. One bag of UPP will give 100 loads in an HE machine and up to 66 laundry loads in a conventional machine so LLD will go further. But, LLD is priced a little higher, $34.99, while UPP is $24.99. Other than that, you get to choose which is for you. They are both free of all the gunk and good for the environment. And don’t worry, UPP isn’t going anywhere!

Renee Lindemann says
Just a suggestion….the directions are under a peal back label. I have worked for over 10 minutes trying to separate the papers and peal it back. I understand the manufacturing might be the issue here. But if the top sheet had a tab or was not the same dimension as the back page, it would be easier to remove. Thank you.
Suzanne Holt says
Thanks Renee. Norwex is working on improving this label!
Melinda says
I got some laundry liquid on my hands while trying open the bottle. It smells like petrol! I’m really worried I’ve spent a fortune on a laundry liquid that is going to make me smell like a petrol station. Is there an chemical/petrol odor on the clothes after washing?
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Melinda,
It’s a super concentrated solution, which would explain why the smell is so strong to you. You won’t find a chemical smell or any other is left on your clothes once they’ve been washed!
Shelley says
Does the liquid detergent contain animal fat? Most liquid detergents do so they can be shipped year round and not freeze, which is the cause of mildew and smell of our front loader.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Shelley,
The ingredients in the liquid detergent do not include animal fats. This product, as well as the powder detergent, are well known for eliminating odor build up in front loaders!
Linnea Farrell says
I cannot open my pump. I do not see a way to remove the lock. Or if it is not locked, then I am not strong enough to pump. I’ve been googling this question for some time; my salesperson is unavailable at this time and I want to wash my clothes. I can just open it and measure if I knew how much a pump was. I am disappointed in the packaging.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Linnea, there is a stopper (that looks like a clip) attached to your pump that simply needs to be pulled off. Then, you push down and twist the pump to open it up and start pumping. This only needs to be done the first time you use the product.
Barb says
I also had problems with the pump. Mine does not look like the one in the picture and there was not a clip that I could see. My husband is stronger and really had to push down. I would hope they would look into that and make it more user friendly.
Kelly says
Hi. Should my package have come with a pump? The directions say “_ pumps” etc, but my bottle has a screw top. ? Thanks!
Suzanne Holt says
Hi. Yes; it should have come with a black pump. If it didn’t, please email the consultant you purchased it from and they can get one sent out for you. Thanks!
Peg says
How many tablespoons does a laundry soap pump contain?
I don’t have access to a pump at this time.
jo says
I have a small sample sachet from a consultant -what is the packaging made from and can it be recycled? Also for the bottle when i purchase, what is that made from and can it be recycled?
Suzanne Holt says
I’m unable to help you with recycling information about the sample sachet, but the bottle that the liquid detergent comes in is a #1 recyclable plastic!
Jennifer Angove says
Hi is the liquid detergent to be used in hot water or will that kill the enzymes?
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Jennifer – the enzymes in the liquid laundry detergent can withstand the hot water temperatures of your washing machine, and won’t kill them!
Karla says
Hi I want to know if this product it’s safe for septyc sistem?
Suzanne Holt says
Yes! This is safe for septic systems!
Robin Rouch says
I’m trying to find out if using the liquid laundry detergent causes clothes to pick up static electricity any more than using regular laundry soap would?
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Robin. No; the liquid laundry detergent should not cause more static than our powder detergent. Thanks for stopping by!
Pam says
Just bought this product. Instructions not obvious, tried several web searches before i ened up here. Need better communication.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Pam. I’m so sorry. Many people don’t realize that the label on the back peels open. If you peel that open, the instructions are there. Thanks for stopping by!
Sally says
Hi I’m just cerious to what Ingredients are in the liquid laundry soap? I don’t understand why they are not listed? I fear I might be allergic but every time I try to find ingredients it just tells me what isn’t in ?!? This is a serious health hazard and regardless if natural or not ingredients should be listed.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Sally – I understand your concerns with regards to allergies! Here is a full list of ingredients for your reference: water, disodium oleoyl glutamate, glycerine, sodium lauroyl glutamate, alkyl polyglucoside c8-c10, sodium citrate, propanediol, alkyl polyglucosdie c10-16, sodium chloride, phenoxyethanol, citric acid, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, phenethyl alcohol, calcium chloride, cellulose gum, ethylhexylglycerin, protease, alpha-amylase, pectate lyase, mannanase, lipase, dellulase, sodium bicarbonate, polyquaternium 88.
Maggie Halen says
Will any of these ingredients cause severe itching. I’ve been itching for a week and it’s unbearable. And I don’t know the cause of it. It started the same time I got the detergent so I really don’t know.
Suzanne Holt says
While most people with sensitive skin find that the Norwex laundry detergent is great for their skin, and it doesn’t bother them, each individual is different, so it’s possible that one of the ingredients is an irritant for you. I haven’t had a customer complain of this issue, but I’d recommend that you take a break from using the detergent to see if that clears it up!
Teniele says
Omg!!! Me too!!! And mine started around the same time I started using the liquid laundry detergent. I’ve use Norwex’s powder in the past with no issues though ?♀️
lesley says
please make the instruction label easier to get to. i had to go on your website to find it. not everyone is on the internet so how would they find out.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Lesley. Thanks for stopping by. I agree the label is a bit tricky. You actually can peel open the label on the back of the bottle; that’s where the instructions are. Thanks!
Judy says
I used 10 pumps in my top load, low water new LG washing machine. Washed only a few lightly soiled items. They were still dirty and smelled dirty after washing. I’m not very thrilled
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Judy – your products smelled bad after washing because you used too many pumps. Remember that this detergent is Ultra-concentrated! If your new machine is HE (which I’m suspecting it is, since it’s low water), you actually only need 1 pump of detergent for a small load (peel back the top corner of the back label to see instructions)! I would recommend you try again, with just 1 pump, and see if you have different results with cleanliness and smell. And if you find you still aren’t satisfied, your detergent is backed by a 60 day return guarantee, so contact me if you purchased it from me, or the consultant you purchased it from, for a refund!
erika says
Okay so I sort of had a similar issue, I used like 2 or 3 pumps in my HE load and some of my clothes smell super weird.. like stale playdough haha. Is it because I used too much soap?
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Erika – your fabric softener shouldn’t cause a reaction to the liquid detergent. You’re not the only customer that has had some issues with a strange smell from this product. It seems to depend on water type, washing machine, etc. Customers and consultants are finding that some adjustments need to be made to avoid this sour smell. Here are a few tips:
*Reduce the amount of detergent you are using, by at least 1 pump. If that doesn’t help, reduce by another pump, until there is no more odour.
*Adjust your water temperature. So, if you’ve been washing with cold, try warm. If you’ve been washing in warm, wash in cold, etc.
I hope these adjustments can help with your issue. If you’re still having issues, feel free to contact me again!
erika says
Sorry to add on here.. Just realized I also use fabric softener.. could it be reacting somehow to make a weird smell? Just trying to figure out how to properly use this detergent without getting a weird playdough smell.
Ann says
Can you use the liquid detergent like powder. For example floors, walls, cabinets
Suzanne Holt says
I haven’t had anyone try that yet, so I’m not sure.
Mary says
There are no directions for the liquid that I can find. Please give me instructions
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Mary! If you look at the label on the back of your laundry soap, you’ll see a tiny arrow on the top left corner. Simply peel that label back, and you’ll find your instructions! The instructions are as follows:
For an HE Washer- Small loads: 1 pump Medium loads: 2 pumps Large Loads: 3 pumps For a standard washer – Small loads: 2 pumps Medium loads: 3 pumps Large loads: 5 pumps
Betty says
I’ve had to spend 20 minutes so far looking for instructions online, for all the money this soap cost me, I should have had easier access to instructions. do I mix it with water before going into the dispenser? and how much do I use? and I DID look for a way to peel back the label and didn’t see it. It should be more visible. I will go look again now.
Suzanne Holt says
Sorry that you’ve had trouble finding the info that you’re looking for! This is a new product for Norwex, so there isn’t a lot of info ‘out there’ quite yet. I will definitely put on my list to create a blog post that contains all of the info you’ve been looking for, so it’s available for future customers! When you use, there is no need to mix with water. Just put in your dispenser. For an HE Washer- Small loads: 1 pump Medium loads: 2 pumps Large Loads: 3 pumps For a standard washer – Small loads: 2 pumps Medium loads: 3 pumps Large loads: 5 pumps. Feel free to come back and share your feedback on this product, and thanks for reaching out, Betty!
Elizabeth says
Does the liquid laundry detergent go directly into the front loader machine or into where the normal detergent goes?
I can’t find the answer
Thank you!
Suzanne Holt says
Either putting directly in the machine, or in the drawer where your detergent goes, will work!
