A well-made fruit platter is always a crowd-pleaser. It’s not only delicious, but also incredibly easy to put together: just slice, arrange, and you’re done! The key to a great fruit platter is using fresh, colorful, in-season fruit. I love including pineapple for its bright yellow pop, along with watermelon for contrast. Berries like strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries are perfect too—just rinse and serve.
A delicious dip takes the fruit platter to the next level.
This pistachio crème has been a favorite of mine for over twenty years. It’s super easy to make and adds a special touch to the fruit.
Pistachio Crème Fruit Dip Recipe
Gather your ingredients and equipment – your favorite seasonal fruit, pistachio pudding mix, milk, and refrigerator-cold (not frozen) Cool Whip.
This recipe is definitely a bit retro, but it has become a classic in my recipe box for good reason. For equipment, all you need is a medium mixing bowl and a whisk.

Start by pouring the pistachio pudding mix into the bowl and whisking in 1 cup of milk. This will make a concentrated pudding mixture that will serve as the base for the dip.

Let the pudding cool in the refrigerator until set, about 10 minutes. Since this base uses half of the milk required in typical boxed pudding recipes, the mixture will be concentrated and a bright green colour.
Next, gently fold in the Cool Whip.

Your final dip will be a very pale green.

Now that you have the dip prepared, it’s time to arrange your fruit platter and choose a bowl for the dip to complete the spread.
I like to use a simple white platter to display the fruit and a clear bowl, like this one I thrifted, to showcase the pretty pistachio crème.

Enjoy this simple yet delicious fruit platter and dip at your next potluck or special occasion!
