I’ve had mixed feelings about Norwex’s Kitchen Cloth & Towel in the past, but the Diamond Weave has made me fall for it all over again!
Maybe it sounds silly, like I can’t make up my mind, but having the right tools in your kitchen is a big deal. When it comes to the cloths and towels in your kitchen, you want to make sure they are going to be useful, but not grungy.
If you’ve searched my blog before trying to get a feel for the Kitchen Cloth and Towel, you probably noticed I’ve had mixed feelings. The Kitchen Cloth post is labeled a “recant” because the first one wasn’t super positive. My Kitchen Towel post basically recategorizes it as a hand towel instead of a dish dryer. In my efforts to remain positive, it’s still clear this product wasn’t a favorite.
Enter the Diamond Weave. This was a DTR (define the relationship) moment.
Norwex used to have only one texture of material for their Kitchen Cloth and Towel- the channel weave. Like I’ve said in previous posts, I’d found a way to make them useful, but I still wasn’t overawed. In the past few years, Norwex has introduced a new texture, the diamond weave. This new texture makes up for everything that lacked in the past. It makes the Kitchen Cloth and Towel all that you’d want if they are going to take up space in your kitchen.
Diamond Weave vs. Channel Weave
The diamond weave makes the Kitchen Towel into the dish dryer and hand towel combo I’d been waiting for! The diamond weave is a pattern that looks like little diamonds up close. So many pockets to make it soak up liquid! It is super absorbent- Norwex’s microfiber can hold up to 7 times its weight in water. That means you can dry a lot of dishes with just one towel! Maybe you’ll even be able to get through an entire holiday clean up with just one! It sounds optimistic, but why not try?
So many colors to choose from! Which one is your favorite?
Sometimes a kitchen towel can feel a little sketchy, like you’re not actually sure how clean it is so you’d rather just grab a new one. But once you’ve dried your hands or dishes with the diamond weave Kitchen Towel, the BacLock® feature gets to work. This is an antimicrobial agent which protects the cloth by winning the fight against odor-causing bacteria in the cloth, helping it to stay fresher longer. This towel can hang in there much longer than the standard towel. Once it starts to hold a stink, it will be ready for a wash. Less laundry is a big win!
I wash equally pleased with the diamond weave Kitchen Cloth. I use this mostly for wiping down the countertops and table, but you can run it over all sorts of hard surfaces, including stainless steel, enamel, ceramic, glass, chrome, granite, marble, wood, tile and china. I don’t use it to wash dishes- that’s a job for the Dish Cloth or Mesh Dish Scrubber- they are made with holes so the food doesn’t get stuck and become gross. Since it comes in contact with food and grease more often than my other Norwex microfiber, I make sure to give it a little sink bath, every few days. I also launder these a little more often, but still less than a standard cloth.
When they need to get washed, just follow standard Norwex washing instruction:
- Wash with lint-free laundry
- No bleach, fabric softener, or dryer sheets
- Wash with Microfiber Cleaner Laundry Booster or a free and clear laundry detergent for best results.
I totally give the diamond weave Kitchen Cloth and Towel 5 stars! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
They cost more than you’d usually spend on kitchen linens, but since you don’t need as many, the cost evens out. It is so worth it to have peace of mind that your kitchen towel is ACTUALLy clean! Plus, the colors are so fun! You can find ones to match your decor or to make your holidays more festive.
